A brand new cryptocurrency backed by traditional property — stable and reliable with a great return, what more could you want?

Founded in 1636, Tokenhouse Yard is the epicentre of House token’s initial investment. The year 1636 holds momentous significance for many reasons, in China the Qing Dynasty was conceived, whilst this was happening America established Harvard University which later became one of the finest educational institutions in the world. And at the same time in London, Token Yard was built to help the general public trade tokens.

The name ‘Tokenhouse’ derives from the old house which was once the office for the delivery of farthing pocket pieces, or tokens, issued for several centuries by many London tradesmen. Tokenhouse Yard was built by Sir William Petty (during the reign of Charles I) on the site of a house and garden of the Earl of Arundel. Token House was formerly occupied by Cazenove who were the Queen’s stockbrokers. Copper coinage, with very few exceptions, was unauthorised in England till 1672. Edward VI. coined silver farthings, but Queen Elizabeth conceived a great prejudice to copper coins, from the spurious “black money,” or copper coins washed with silver, which had got into circulation.

And so, tokens were a form of currency that enabled the general public to have a lower denomination of coin instead of copper, which was frowned upon by the monarchy at the time. Over 3000 tradesmen in London throughout the period issued and traded these tokens, with Tokenhouse Yard playing a central part in the distribution of these units. Both House Token and tradesmen at Tokenhouse Yard have historically aimed to provide social utility through the process of offering unique tokens.

House Token (HoT) combines old and new money by taking old English traditions and redesigning them for a better, stable and more efficient economic future. Much like the tokens that were seen as ambiguous during Victorian times we are taking a new and unique approach to digital currency.

The House Token strategy offers a high and sustainable income resource that thrives on a decentralised blockchain system. The strategy targets the maximisation of current income and also stresses the total return. This gives you access to prime real estate that is destined to have a stable return by setting hedging tools against inflation.

We want to take that timeless Token House premise and re-invent it for the advanced digital age.

House Token is a REIT (real estate investment trust) and this enables the coin to be extremely stable, but not only does it offer stability but it is also low volatility. Once the ICO has taken place our Cryptocurrency will have market liquidity which then means these tokens can be traded on secondary markets.

Our philosophy at House Token is to provide a new solution for global currency which combines the desirable characteristics of Bitcoin with the traditional and inherent value in asset investments that people have found comfort in for thousands of years. These all-weather solutions provide investors with the ability to earn a steady profit from the long-term stability that comes from our coin.

Why House Token?

  1. Historic value: Tokenhouse is at the centre of the investment for House Token — buried in Tokenhouse lies the historical birth of tokens, with this we can now move forward and transfer this tradition to a new virtual currency.
  2. Interest rates: Interest rates on the coin are better than banks as cash returns are very low and set at 1.5–2.5%, whereas REIT investment, which is what House Token is stands at 5–7%. Blockchain technology makes it simple, safe and effective to store your tokens without the threat of Bankruptcy.
  3. Exchange: You can easily exchange or buy House Token through the trading website BitQuin and you can also earn these Tokens by using the Be.Chat app.
